Samantha Mohr
Mohr, one of the UGA student who suggested her that she enter Miss Columbus 1985. Miss Columbus 1985 pageant, she won the contest. This win meant that Mohr could be eligible for her place in the Miss Georgia pageant which was held in June 1985. Mohr received the title of Miss Georgia 1985 on Saturday 22nd June, 1985. Mohr was awarded more than $3500 worth of scholarships, as well as prize money at the national pageant. The activities she took part in as Miss Georgia included appearances in public areas throughout Georgia. Mohr, Georgia's representative, was also at Miss America 1986, Atlantic City, New Jersey in September 1985. Through computer-generated modeling, which successfully identified the possibility that Susan Akin would be named Miss America, Mohr's odds were set at 22 to 1. Mohr did not rank in the top 10 finalist to win the national crown. Mohr served as Miss Georgia for a total of ten seasons, and was not crowned until Marlesa Bal, her successor, was elected Miss Georgia 1986, on June 28th, 1986.
